TRINE focuses on providing curated events and experiences both home and abroad. What was the ‘aha!’ moment that set TRINE in motion?
A few years back, I started researching a way to attend the World Cup in Brazil. I started to find that there weren’t companies out there that could provide the high-end luxury experience that I wanted. My background is in hospitality, so I thought, “why can’t I found a company that fills that void?”. I found no reason not to pursue it and we hit the ground running to start planning a full experience surrounding the World Cup. I’m so grateful to my Manhattan Beach neighbor, Steve Nash, for believing in us, and joining the company as a partner and being part of our adventure in Brazil. My team was on the ground for more than three months preparing and organizing every single detail. That’s one of the activations I’m most proud of to this day.
What are some of the experiences TRINE can provide?
TRINE provides unparalleled access to world class events around the world. We’ve done everything from an Andrea Bocelli concert in Italy to the Ryder Cup in Scotland to the Super Bowl here in the United States. By unparalleled access, we mean exclusive meet and greets, behind the scenes access, the best tickets and accommodations and private transportation. On top of that, our operations team is on-site at most events ensuring things run smoothly and taking great care of our guests.
How are events or activities chosen to be featured?
We are open to being involved in any type of event whether it’s sports, fashion or arts related. There are several events that we do annually such as the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby, major golf tournaments, New York Fashion Week and Sundance Film Festival. If a client requests an event outside of the ones featured on our website, we work directly with other high-end suppliers and trusted partners to secure an experience of the same caliber.
What is the process like to book an experience with TRINE?
Our goal at TRINE is to make the customer experience seamless starting from inquiry all the way through to the post-event survey we send to guests. Typically, a client will browse through our catalogue of experiences on our website and inquire about a specific event. A member of our sales team will then follow up within 24 hours with detailed information including pricing, inclusions and a la carte options. From there, it’s as easy as filling out a credit card authorization form and booking your flights!
How is TRINE revolutionizing the custom experience market?
The travel and leisure market has made a slight shift from venturing to picturesque destinations to traveling to “bucket list” events. In the past, these events have typically been reserved for industry insiders and ultra VIPs, so they are incredibly hard to navigate. The majority of the population still thinks these events are impossible to access, but we fine tune every detail to make the navigation and entry easy for the consumer. At TRINE, we handle all the logistics that would normally be overlooked or forgotten to ensure a flawless experience. We’re a bit like Disney World, where all the “magic” is happening behind the scenes, all you see is the experience you paid for.
What is one book you would recommend to everyone?
I’m a huge history nerd and my favorite book is River of Doubt by Candice Millard. It’s about the adventures that Theodore Roosevelt went on after he left the White House. Combining my love of presidential history with my passion for travel makes for an awesome book that I recommend to everyone.
Apart from @TheTrineGroup, who is someone we should be following on Twitter right now?
I have a French bulldog and I think they’re the funniest little creatures. I think everyone should follow Manny the Frenchie – @FrenchieManny – to add a little humor into their day.
What is one app that all FoundersCard Members should be using?
When I was in San Francisco a few months ago, a friend introduced me to an app called Silvercar. It’s a service that has taken that hassle out of renting a car. They only offer Audi A4’s, so it’s a no brainer if you’re driving around clients or important partners. (FoundersCard Members receive access to preferred pricing with Silvercar!)
Could you give us your best plug/brag a little about as to what you’re working on now/next?
I’m really proud of what my creative and technology teams are working on right now. We are developing a crowdfunding proprietary software that allows us to take on clients that have a charitable component to them. The software allows people to donate to a cause and as a thank you, be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win a grand prize. The grand prize is a TRINE experience that we develop with the help of the charity.
Another reason I am so excited about this project is because I realize that TRINE’s experiences are not financially reasonable for everyone. Through this software, we are able to bring people from all walks of life on adventures with us. I’ve always thought that these events are something that everyone should have the chance to experience once in their life and now they have the opportunity to do so with their donations.
